About Sai Yok National Park

Sai Yok is about 100 kilometers northwest of Kanchanaburi town, with steep limestone mountains along the Khwae Noi river. The park covers about 500 square kilometers, reaches the Myanmar border, and tops out at Khao Ro Rae, 1,132 meters. It has waterfalls and caves, and the remains of a Burma Railway bridge and a wartime Japanese camp. The Russian roulette scenes in The Deer Hunter were filmed here in 1978.
