About Wat Phra That Narai Cheng Weng
This Khmer sanctuary is a sandstone tower on a laterite base, about five kilometers from Sakon Nakhon town. Its lintel shows Krishna killing a lion, in the Baphuon style, and the doorway and windows are finely carved. It dates to roughly the 10th to 12th century. Local legend says women built it, in a contest against the men building Phra That Phu Pek.
