About Phu Pha Yon National Park

Phu Pha Yon covers about 829 square kilometers of the Phu Phan range, across parts of Sakon Nakhon, Nakhon Phanom and Mukdahan. It was set up in 1988 as Huai Huad National Park and took its current name in 2001. Most of the park is highland at 300 to 600 meters, with sandstone terrain that feeds the local streams. Check with the park office about which areas to see, since it's spread over three provinces.
