About Wat Phra Non Chaksi

The temple is thought to date from before Ayutthaya became the capital. Its hall holds a huge reclining Buddha in the Sukhothai style, about 47 meters long, and its exact age and origin are unknown. The right arm stretches forward instead of bending up to support the head, unlike the usual Thai form. The hall also has other revered Buddha images, including lacquered and gilded stone figures, and a large sala tree stands in front.
