About Phra Prang Sam Yot

King Jayavarman VII of the Khmer Empire built this temple in the early 13th century, after the empire took Lopburi. Its three towers are joined by a passage and were dedicated to Prajnaparamita, the Buddha and Avalokiteshvara. Look for the stucco decoration and the carved door columns showing seated hermits. On the east side is a hall added under King Narai, with a large stone Buddha from the early Ayutthaya period. The temple stands on a mound just west of the railway line.
