About Phu Pha Thoep National Park
Phu Pha Thoep is about 17 kilometers south of Mukdahan and is one of Thailand's smallest national parks. Its namesake mountain has eroded rocks said to look like mushrooms, temples and swans. A cave called Tham Fa Mue Daeng, meaning red hand, has hand paintings estimated at 3,000 to 5,000 years old. Phu Mano has a viewpoint over the area. Phu Tam Pra is a mainly seasonal waterfall, with a grotto of Buddha images above it.
