About Phra Pathom Chedi

Phra Pathom Chedi stands in the center of Nakhon Pathom, and its spire reaches 120.45 meters, making it one of the tallest stupas in the world. King Mongkut gave it the name, which means the first holy stupa. Historians believe a stupa here was among the main ones of ancient Nakhon Pathom, the largest city of the Mon kingdom of Dvaravati, in the 6th to 8th centuries. The temple grounds also have a museum, and a night market runs nearby.
