About Bang Kachao
A bend in the Chao Phraya River and a canal at its western end make Bang Kachao an island, about 16 square kilometers, in Phra Pradaeng district. It's traditionally farmland with a small population, and it's often called the green lung of Bangkok. Time named it the best urban oasis in its Best of Asia series in 2006. Nature lovers and cyclists come here for the quiet so close to the city.
