About Prasat Sikhoraphum
Prasat Sikhoraphum was built in the 12th century, between Surin and Si Sa Ket. Look for the carved devatas and dvarapalas, the female deities and door guardians. Buddhists took over the temple in the 16th century, and the tower roofs show Lao influence. The name comes from the Sanskrit shikhara, meaning tower sanctuary.
