About Prasat Hin Phanom Wan

Prasat Phanom Wan is in Mueang Nakhon Ratchasima district, and locals also call it Wat Phanom Wan. It's believed to date from the 11th century, built as a Hindu temple and later converted to Buddhism. Much of it is in ruins, but the main sandstone prang and a tiered stupa still stand. A laterite wall surrounds the sanctuary, with a smaller sandstone tower, Prang Noi, to the southwest. The north gate holds a standing Buddha in Ayutthaya style.
