About Nong Nooch Tropical Garden

Pisit and Nongnooch Tansacha bought this land in 1954, planning a fruit farm. After a trip abroad, Nongnooch decided on a tropical garden instead, and it opened to the public in 1980. It now covers 500 acres on Sukhumvit Road and is often described as the largest botanical garden in Southeast Asia. It's also a major scientific center for cycads, with its own gene bank.
