About Bang Saen Beach
Bang Saen is about 108 kilometers from Bangkok, and its short distance from the city and Pattaya keeps the 2.5 kilometer beach popular. It began as a fishing village. The name comes from a local folk tale about two lovers, Saen and Sam Muk, who drowned together. Khao Sam Muk, a low hill near the beach, carries her name and has a shrine to her at its foot.
